Blinds For All Window Types
24 August 2017

It's true - one size does not fit all. After years of supplying blinds for hundreds of New Zealand homes and businesses, NZ Blinds has made blinds in every possible shape and size.

If you have a tricky window and you are wondering how you are going to create privacy, prevent glare or retain warmth, fear not - we have a blind solution for you. Here's what we recommend for non-conventional windows.

Curved Windows

Many bungalows and Art Deco homes have curved windows so it's important to know which blinds will suit them best. Shutters, vertical and Venetian blinds create an excellent solution for curved windows offering privacy, UV light control and style to your home.

Installing a vertical blind to a bay window means the tracks can be curved to fit the window perfectly. Our vertical blinds also use industrial grade plastics and marine grade aluminium extrusions, giving them anti-fade, easy clean and anti-fungal properties.

If one continuous vertical blind isn't ideal, installing a Venetian blind or plantation shutter to each window panel can follow the curvature of the bay window. This gives homeowners the option of opening only some blinds to let in light but keep out glare. Their blades can stack to one side or the other, or draw out from the centre which makes them easy to control and work the way you want.

Small or Narrow Windows

Narrow blinds are commonly used for sidelight windows and are usually next to doors. Small blinds are typically used for small office windows or in basements where windows tend to be short and wide.

Our wooden Venetian blinds are made of Basswood known for being lightweight, stable, beautiful - making them a popular choice with Venetian blind manufacturers worldwide. And because NZ Blinds can supply them as long as 2.7 metres wide, this means you have the option to install one blind covering the entire window if they wish.

If you're looking alternative colours our Faux wood range of Venetian blinds offers other popular colours.

Sliding Glass Doors

Vertical blinds are well suited to ranch sliders and high windows where they offer dramatic effect. They do a great job providing privacy and light control. They are also very low maintenance, as they don't collect dust, a big tick if you have high windows as you don't want to be climbing a ladder every other week just to dust your blinds! Available in two blade widths, vertical blinds add elegance to any room.
